Bulk Fuel Supplier FAQs: Your Questions, Answered

In this article, we’ll explore some of the most frequently asked questions we get as a fuel supplier regarding pricing, fuel types, services, and more.

Pricing FAQs

1. How are fuel prices calculated?

Pricing is calculated by taking the daily base market price and adding freight charges that vary depending on the distance (mileage) from the terminal to the customer’s site. We then take that freight rate and divide it into the amount of gallons being delivered to determine the price per gallon for delivery.

2. How often do fuel prices change?

Fuel prices can change daily, weekly, and seasonally due to factors like the cost of crude oil, refinery issues, and supply and demand.

3. What payment terms do you offer?

Our credits terms begin at 10 days, however we offer flexibility to meet your specific needs. Our payment terms range from options including EFT, check, ACH and credit card.

4. Why is my fuel price higher than the pump?

Depending on the quantity of fuel delivered, sometimes having a tank on-site is for convenience and the ability to track usage. Trucks stops and gas stations receive a minimum of 7,500 gallons, therefore pricing fluctuates based on the quantity delivered.

Fuel & Permitting Related FAQs

5. Do I have to have a dyed diesel permit to direct fuel equipment or generator?

No, you do not need a dyed diesel permit to fuel your own generator or off-road equipment, as long as the fuel is used exclusively for off-road purposes.

6. What is the difference between dyed and clear diesel?

Off-road diesel is also known as dyed diesel and is intended for vehicles, machinery, and equipment that don’t typically operate on public roads, such as those in the construction and agricultural industries. It is not taxed, so it tends to be cheaper than on-road (clear) diesel. It’s also illegal to use in on-road vehicles, like consumer cars.

7. What types of fuel do you offer?

We offer all grades of gasoline, on-road diesel, off-road diesel, DEF, kerosene, biodiesel, renewable fuels, and propane.

8. Where can you deliver fuel?

We are headquartered in Texas, but we have assets and a supply network in Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, and beyond. We can make it work anywhere!

9. What is DEF?

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a non-toxic, colorless, odorless, and non-flammable mixture of deionized water and urea that is injected into the exhaust system of diesel vehicles. It is an additive that is necessary for newer diesel vehicles and equipment with the SCR system to function. You can view more FAQs about DEF here.

10. Do your trucks have meters?

Yes, all of our trucks are equipped with a metering system to ensure the proper quantity of fuel is dispensed.

11. What industries do you service?

Our team is highly specialized to serve a vast and diverse customer base. Whether you’re in construction, mining, oil and gas, marine, or another industry, we offer the highest quality of fuels, lubricants, and cutting fluids to every major industry.
